I love Bristol Harbourside and when a friend suggested breakfast at Mud Dock followed by a walk around the Harbour I was in. Mud Dock is one of those places I pass all the time but haven’t spent much time there.
Sitting bedside the Harbour the two story building houses a bike shop and cafe. The cafe is on the second level and has fantastic views across the harbour.
It was a lovely sunny day at the start of Spring so we opted to sit on the balcony so we could enjoy the view. We needed our jumpers but the sun and the view were worth it.
To go with the sunshine I opted for a freshly squeezed orange juice which was perfect.
I was with Tor from Tor goes travelling again who opted for an earl grey tea.
The Breakfast menu had a reasonable selection of cooked breakfasts, pancakes, porridge and granola. Over half the selection was vegetarian with gluten free options too.
Tor went for the smashed avocado with poached egg on sourdough toast (£6.00). It was also served with a chutney. She enjoyed it and the egg was poached beautifully.
I opted for the home-made granola, Greek yogurt and berry compote (£6.00). It was a very generous portion with the right ratio of compote, yogurt and granola. I do love a good crunchy granola and would recommend this one.
Service was good and friendly but it was very quiet when we visited. The food was delicious and a fantastic location for breakfast on the harbourside. I will be back here again.
